Skinner traps are robust traps made from exterior grade plywood which fold flat when not in use. They can be quickly assembled and set up from either
mains or generator power. Clear plastic sliding top panels allow access to the catch without turning off the bulb
These traps are supplied without a base and can be used directly onto the ground, on a white sheet or on sheets of plywood.
The 60W (2 x 30W) actinic electrics offer catch rates about 40% lower than mercury vapour bulbs but are better suited where neighbours overlook your trap and a 125W bulb could be a disturbance.
The 240V electrics are supplied with a IP56 waterproof control box, with compression flanges and approximately 5 metres of input lead and 1 metre of output lead. The bulb sockets are IP67 rated so they are fully waterproof for use outside. Unlike mercury vapour bulbs, the actinic bulbs do not get hot so there is no danger of them shattering when in contact with rain. This trap does not need a rain guard and does come with 2 x 30W actinic bulbs.
