About this book

The benchmark Atlas series provides a provisional indication of the distribution and abundance of all groups of flora and fauna within vice-county 38. Each provisional atlas is compiled from the much more detailed records held in the Warwickshire Biological Records Centre and has text written by the County
Recorder for the group. Fulld etails of the availability of these atlases can be obtained upon receipt of a self-addressed envelope.

The Biological Records Centre is held jointly within the Natural History Departments of the two museums in the vice-county--the Herbert Art Gallery and Museum (Coventry City Council) and the Warwickshire Museum (WCC). It holds information about SITES of ecological importantance and species distribution of plants and animals.

Records are contributed by amateur fieldworkers as well as by systematic survey and the information in WBRC is available to anyone concerned with the conservation of Warwickshire's wildlife and natural habitats.
