About this book

A Site-by-Site Guide to Trees in the Kruger National Park Offers a unique introduction to trees in this very special conservation area. Although the book is about trees, it has been compiled around placed in the Kruger Park. It is not a field guide, but is aimed at the visitor who may have noticed a tree and wondered, "What tree is that?"

A Site-by-Site Guide to Trees in the Kruger National Park is a great travelling companion that introduces the visitor to 43 trees in the Park. The book includes the giants of the bushveld such as the baobab, jackalberry and the nyala tree as well as extraordinary and lesser know trees like the toad tree and the knobbly fig. The book draws the visitor's attention to remarkable or interesting trees in rest camps, at picnic sites and bird hides. Every tree in the book is richly illustrated with photographs that make them easy to spot, show typical profiles as well as leaves and flowers or fruit.

The book also contains anecdotes from the history of the Park and information about places and place names in a conversational mode.
