Biography

Gene Kritsky, Ph.D., is Professor and Chair of the Dept. of Biology, College of Mount St. Joseph in Ohio. He is the author of seven books and over 150 scientific papers on entomology, the history of biology, and Egyptology. Dr. Kritsky was a Fulbright Scholar in 1981-82, and was elected a Fellow of the AAAS in 1996. His research has attracted national attention with appearances on the ABC and CBS Evening News, the Today Show, and CNN. His research has also been featured in newspapers and magazines.

Frank N. Young, Jr., Ph.D., became Professor Emeritus at Indiana University in 1986, after a distinguished career as a Professor in the Dept. of Biological Sciences, U.S. Army Medical Services Corps. He had an extensive publication record, including The Water Beetles of Florida. His research focused on the taxonomy and ecology of water beetles and distributional history of periodical cicadas. He received numerous grants and awards including a Guggenheim Fellowship. Dr. Young was known as a popular teacher with a keen sense of humor. He passed away in 1998.
