This advanced bug hunting kit contains;
* Beginners sweep net
* 3.5x magnifying pot
* Pooter
* 5 Collecting pots
* Super fine pointed forceps
* Collins Complete Guide to British Insects: A photographic guide to every common species
This kit is ideal for someone who has some previous knowledge or interest in entomology. The Collins Complete Guide to British Insects is a photographic field guide to all of the common and some of the unusual species of insects across Britain. Over 1,500 species are illustrated with detailed photographs chosen for their help in identification. The guide includes photographs of larvae. Differences between similar species are highlighted and information is provided on when to look and where to find each species. Insect groups dealt with include butterflies and moths, mayflies, dragonflies, damselflies, grasshoppers, crickets, earwigs, lacewings, bugs, bees, wasps, ants and beetles, all with keys to ensure accurate identification.
The kit also includes all the equipment needed to catch and study specimens. The sweep net features a 30cm diameter net and wooden handle. The net has a reinforced collar and is suitable for collecting invertebrates in grasses, bracken and other non-coarse vegetation. The 5 collecting pots are the same dimensions as the pot on the pooter. Thus they are interchangeable, minimising specimen handling. A pair of super fine pointed forceps allow for careful manipulation of specimens. The 3.5x magnifying pot has a grid on its base for estimating size.
