About this book

Following public concern over damage to the environment caused by inappropriate development of holiday resorts there has been growing demand for future developments to follow a more sensitive path. That is, to ensure controlled planning and implementation of resort projects that satisfy long term economic, environmental and social objectives. Success of an integrated package depends on a number of factors. Six case study resorts were examined and evaluated against a set criteria including consideration of infrastrucutre, finance and the role of public and private sector. Potential to apply some of the policies and procedures to other projects around the world are also investigated.
