About this book

Language: Trilingual in English, French, and Spanish

Bernard Francou has lived in the Andes for twenty years, frequenting the highlands, glaciers and ice deserts, where he works as Director of Research at the Institut de Recherche pour le Développement (IRD), in the field of study of glaciology and geophysics of climate. Francou has developed his concept of photography to capture the beauty of the high mountains and deserts of the planet.

He works in the great lonely environments: seeking out the beauty of human footprints in the basic materials of nature. He has published, in collaboration with several authors, numerous photo books with scientific content. He has produced several television documentaries in France on the glaciers of the Andes.
