John Bingeman is a chartered marine engineer. In 1979 he spent five weeks on Ascension Island with Joint Services Expedition studying the marine environment. In 1991 and 1992 John was invited back to supervise RAF Recreational Diving and Jane accompanied him. From 1999 to 2002 inclusive and in 2005, they returned to the Island as tourists spending over a month each time.
