About this book

Language: Spanish

The Atlases and Red Books that have been published since the late 1990s by the Spanish Ministerio de Agricultura, Alimentación y Medio Ambiente (MAGRAMA), provide comprehensive information on the distribution and conservation status of many threatened taxa. This new atlas focuses on the aquatic environment and the importance of conservation of beetles, which are important indicators of the environment they occupy and of its biodiversity. The work includes valuable information on endangered species, endemics, distribution, genetics and other issues related to biodiversity. Knowledge and protection of water beetles not only serves to preserve rivers and wetlands, but also draws attention to the saltwater streams or mountain ponds, which can accommodate diverse species .
