About this book

Language: Chinese with scientific nomenclature

In this book, the native tree species in Suzhou, China are mainly classified in the form of maps, and they are introduced in the form of pictures with a few words, which are both intuitive and practical. Since ancient times, the plant scenery has been important to poets and artists, and has deeply influenced the garden-making activities since Han, Tang and Song dynasties. At present, the construction of urban green spaces requires gardening and creation of an ecological livable environment, in which plants play a leading role. In this, professional workers make landscapes beautiful, and should be familiar with the local native tree species, and know their shape, colour, texture, branches, leaves, flowers, fruit, roots, and characteristics to create a stable plant community. To this end, we have compiled this book, with a view to providing a convenient reference work to urban green land construction workers in Suzhou. At the same time, this book introduces a wide range of tree species for professional and creative needs.
