Venezuela is the country where `the neotropical experience' started for the author Peter Boesman. After his first visit to study Venezuelan birds in 1988, he was so impressed that two years later he made it his home during seven years. After his return to Belgium, he continued recording bird vocalizations on every trip to the Neotropics.
