This is the first time that the annual report contains observations from each of the provinces. This issue receives a total of 1024 species from 64 families and 16 orders, which is about 76% of the total of the national list. Highlights of the Report 2005 include four species and a subspecies new to the China. Report 2005 presents the recent field sighting of 49 globally threatened species in China. A note about the first Himalayan Bulbul in China and a feature article about Black-faced Spoonbill in Guangdong are also included.
