Groote Eylandt, a predominately mining island, is situated in the Gulf of Carpentaria in NE Australia. This publication was commissioned by Groote Eylandt Mining Company Ltd (GEMCO), and aims to present as much information as is currently available about the birds of one of Australia's largest and most pristine islands, documenting in addition the physical environment, climate and native vegetation.
