A privately published catalogue and guide to the birds of this region, an area containing some of the richest and most important wetland sites in the world. 698 species - nearly half the Brazilian total - are described, with English and Brazilian names, local distribution, ecology and range given. Most are depicted on colour plates, which are stylised, giving the key colour and identification features.
