This monograph includes General Description of Birds, Endemism in Chinese Birds and Species Accounts. The species account section deals with 105 endemic species which belong to 8 orders, 16 families and 58 genera. For each species, the following items are treated: field identification, morphological description, measurements, taxonomic status and subspecific differentiation, geographical distribution with predicted distribution map for some well studied species, ecology and behavior, vocalization with sonagraphs for some species, residential status and population status evaluation.
