This book is a collaboration between Andrew Haslen and the family of the British artist Raymond Sheppard. Christine Sheppard had been cataloguing her
father's paintings and sketches which had been stored since his death in 1958. Christine and her brother decided it was time that something was done
with the collection. This book is a permanent record of that collection, made before the collection was dispersed.
Raymond Sheppard was a superb observer and draughtsman with the ability to draw any subject, including wildlife and landscape. His early death meant there was not a lot written about him or by him. His contemporaries are no longer with us, so this is mainly a book of paintings with extracts from his drawing books written in the 1950's.
