Presents data and digital images of about 50,000 type specimens present in the collections of the Dutch herbaria of Leiden, Utrecht, Wageningen and Amsterdam, which combined, are rated among the largest botanical collections worldwide, holding close to 6 million specimens. This CD-ROM is the result of a 2 year project funded by the Netherlands Organisation for Scientific Research and carried out in collaboration with ETI, the Expert Center for Taxonomic Identification. It aims to strengthen all ongoing fundamental and strategic research and related activities focusing on biodiversity and systematics.
