Summarizes the knowledge of conservation scientists in different parts of the world in regard to the current influence of environmental change on forest fauna, and focuses on changing forests the world over. It highlights the status of key vertebrates inhabiting these forests and the past and current effects that environmental change exerts upon these vertebrate populations. Current methods used in the verification of this data are outlined. Finally, and most interestingly, the argument is made for integrating landscape ecology and wildlife conservation. It is this merger, it is argued, that will promote the conservation of vertebrates in forests around the world.
