Series informationCOUNTRYSIDE CHARACTER: THE CHARACTER OF ENGLAND'S NATURAL AND MAN MADE LANDSCAPECountryside Commission
Countryside Commission Identifies and describes the character of England's countryside, with the aim of raising awareness of countryside diversity. This is achieved through discussing how the many influences upon it combine to give specific areas a sense of place, a tract of countryside apart from adjacent areas. In 8 volumes, this series looks at the character of Englands Countryside at a regional and local level through the following section headings: Key Characteristics; Landscape Character; Physical Influences; Historical and Cultural Influences; Buildings and Settlement; Land Cover; The Changing Countryside; and Shaping the future. Forthcoming volumes in this series will be added to this page as soon as we
become aware of them.
