About this book

Language: German

The cryptozoology author Michael Schneider delves into the question of what lies behind the various sightings of mammoths to the present day. It is possible that a relict population of the mammoth has survived down to our modern times? The last known populations of mammoth demonstrably lived some 3700 years ago on the remote Wrangel Island in the Arctic Ocean. Nevertheless, up to the present time there are repeated reports of alleged sightings and encounters with the infamous mammoth. This book addresses the question of whether this can ever be illuminated and the what the background is behind these stories. And it goes to the question of what factors led to the extinction of this formidable representative of earth's prehistoric megafauna.
