While everyone agrees that forests should be managed `sustainably', there is hardly any consensus on what this actually means. This multidisciplinary volume is based on contributions made at the January 1992 conference organised by the Wilderness Society, American Forests's Forest Policy Center and the World Resources Institute. Social, political, economic and ecological issues were raised and discussed. An extremely valuable collection.
