About this book

These proceedings represent a complete set of papers and abstracts of the oral presentations and posters of the 10th International Echinoderm Conference held at the University of Otago, Dunedin, New Zealand from January 31 to February 4, 2000. Although Dunedin is remote from most academic and research institutions, many of the leading echinoderm biologists from around the world attended the conference and the results of their research are presented here. The broad range of topics covered by the nine plenary talks, 88 contributed oral papers and 64 posters that make up this volume indicate the continuing interest in echinoderms as model organisms to study important biological problems.
