This educational kit is ideal for children at Key Stage 2 and above. It contains;
* Choice of mini, small or large pond net (see Specifications for sizes)
* White sampling tray
* 5 collecting pots
* Magnifying pot with grid on the base for estimating size
* 3ml plastic pipette
* Freshwater Name Trail identification guide
The fully-illustrated and laminated identification key is produced by the FSC (Field Studies Council) and covers the main animal groups found in British ponds and streams. None of the identification in the key goes beyond family level and some of it stays at the phylum or class level.
The pond net features knotless mesh which is guaranteed not to run if holed. The coarse mesh is attached to a plastic handle, making a lightweight net ideal for use by children. The sampling tray and pipette allow you to sort through your catch and you can use the water-tight sampling pots for trapping specimens for further analysis. Just make sure to put them back afterwards! There's also a magnifying pot with grid base for an in-depth analysis of your specimens.
