Provides a detailed account of a month-long birding tour to central and southern Ethiopia in September/October 1997.
Ethiopia boasts a list of over 830 species that includes no less than 30 endemics, of which 20 are fairly easy to see.
The itinerary was planned with a view to seeing all the endemics of the region, and as many other birds as possible. The report provides details of exact location where a sighting is of particular interest. In relation to the difficult endemic and semi-endemic birds, detailed directions to the relevant sites are given in the bird list and cross referenced below.
