This book is an examination of the legal dimension of the Sensitive Areas pilot study taking place in England to see if changing ways of farming can stop water resources being contaminated with nitrate. Sue Elsworthy highlights the conflict between food and water, in particular the development of the law of food production and the law of water management under the impetus of EC law. She concludes that rather than food and water being in conflict, law and administration have caused the problem, and thus environmental problems.
