About this book

Language: Bilingual in German and French

On more than 960 pages this work introduces all the more than 600 currently known species of Noctuidae, Pantheidae and Nolidae from Switzerland.

This richly illustrated publication, containing one or more specimens per species, is the result of an immense undertaking. The colored drawings are complemented by semi-schematic drawings if necessary, showing the distinguishing criteria of difficult to identify species, as well as the genitalia of males and females.

For each species, the general distribution, the way of life and any related species are described in a fact sheet. The profiles are complemented by graphics showing phenology and altitudinal distribution, based on more than 700,000 records, which originate from countless nights with light traps and the careful recording of all Swiss museum collections and the most important private collections.
