The work of "Fauna of Invertebrata from Liupan Mountain" is based on the results of field trips to Liupan Mountain from 2007 to 2009 by Chinese experts, and compiles their taxonomic results, as well as referring to the work by other contributors in the past. This book is divided into two parts, general account and systematic account.
The general account includes a nature profile of Liupan Mountain, taxonomic review of Invertebrata from Liupan Mountain, technique and method of expedition, faunal component and characteristics, biodiversity and distribution, resource and protected species, new discoveries (including new species and new records).
The systematic account includes hexapods, spiders and other members of the invertebrata, totalling 13 classes, 47 orders, 332 families, and 3554 species; and each species is provided with citations, examined specimens and distribution, some with host or preyed subjects. At the back of the book the authors provide a map of the expedition, and ecological photos and graphs, 33 in total, as well as the indexes of Chinese and scientific names.
This book is aimed to provide a reference for those working in nature conservation, agriculture and forestry, plant protection, plant quarantine, biodiversity, ecology of lands and so on.
