In the general account, which is divided into seven chapters, the taxonomic history, current taxonomic notes, morphology, biology and ecology, phylogeny, prospect for application, and methods for collection, identifying and preserving the specimens are reviewed.

In the systematic account, 17 genera and 111 species are recognized from China, including 22 new species, 18 are new to China, 4 are new combinations. Keys to genera and species are given.
