About this book

This is the first scientific book on Red Sea fishes since Klunzinger's Die Fische des Rothen Meeres which was published in 1884. The authors, both experts on the marine fauna of Jordan, present the results of several years of field research. All species have been authentically recorded along the Jordanian coastline, and all the illustrations show specimens from the area. According to the authors, this significantly distinguishes the present book from a number of divers' guides to the Red Sea fishes which have been published in recent years.
