This abundantly illustrated work encompasses the region extending from the central Gulf of California southward to Ecuador, taking in the Revillagigedos, Cocos, and Galapagos along the way. Emphasis is placed on species that inhabit inshore reefs and adjacent sand, rubble, and weed habitats, and there is coverage of some of the more common members of coastal sand and mud-bottom communities and those found in river mouths and estuaries.
