About this book

Describes species belonging to the families Bignoniaceae to Valerianaceae. The family Orobanchaceae, initially treated by the late I.V. Novopokrovsky, was revised at the request of the editor. Much new work has been done on the taxonomy of the family Rubiaceae, especially in studying the species of bedstaw and woodruff, the large honeysuckle family. Caprifoliaceae, has been thoroughly revised. New economic treatment of the genera Lonicera and Sanbucus has been presented. The genus Valeriana has also been revised. The author considered it necessary to lump many of the species described from the USSR.
