A key is provided to all genera known or likely to occur in Ecuador, and the tribes Anthospermeae and Rubieae are revised. Two genera of the Anthospermeae are recognized, Nertera and Leptostigma, with a single species each. Two genera are recognized in the Rubieae, Sherardia (1 sp.) and Galium (12 spp.). One new combination is made, viz. Nertera granadensis var. tetrasperma (KUNTH) L. ANDERSS. Keys, descriptions, and specimen citations are provided for all taxa, and most of them are illustrated.
