The Ecuadorean members of the Polypodiaceae tribe Physematieae are revised. Five genera are recognized, Diplazium (56 spp.), Athyrium (3 spp.), Hemidictyum (1 sp.), Cystopteris (1 sp.), and Woodsia (1 sp.). Eight taxa are described as new: Diplazium ambiguum var. dissectum STOLZE, D. immensum STOLZE, D. palaviense STOLZE, D. ciliatum STOLZE, D. bombonasae var. petiolulatum STOLZE, D. Oellgaardii STOLZE, D. Roemerianum var. rufescens STOLZE, and D. paucipinnum STOLZE. Two new combinations are made: Diplazium costale var. robustum (SODIRO) STOLZE and D. Sanderi (C. CHR.) PACHECO. Keys, descriptions, and specimen citations are provided for al~l taxa, and selected species are illustrated.
