The Ecuadorean members of the Aristolochiaceae are revised. One genus, Aristolochia, occurs in the country. Fifteen species are documented by Ecuadorean collections and another 7 species are considered likely to occur, on the basis of finds from adjacent parts of Colombia or Peru. All taxa are fully described, keys and specimen citations are given for all species and 13 species are illustrated.
