The Ecuadorean members of the Papaveraceae are revised. Two species, Bocconia integrifolia and Argemone subfusiformis are considered native, whereas another seven species are weeds or casuals introduced from North America or the Mediteranean area.
The single Ecuadorean species, Tovaria pendula RUIZ & PAV., is described and illustrated, and representative specimens are cited.
