The Ecuadorean species of the subfamilies Centothecoideae and Arundinoideae of Gramineae have been revised. In the Centothecoideae there is one tribe, Centotheceae, with two genera: Orthoclada (1 sp.) and Zeugites (1 sp.). In Arundinoideae there are two tribes, Arundineae with six genera: Danthonia (2 spp.), Cortaderia (5 spp.), Lamprothyrsus (1 sp.), Arundo (1 sp.), Phragmites (1 sp.), and Gynerium (1 sp. with 3 var.), and Aristideae with one genus, Aristida (9 spp.). Two species are described as new: Danthonia Holm-Nielsenii L~GAARD and Aristida guayllabambensis L~GAARD. All species are illustrated.
