This work is a concise introduction orientated to nature enthusiasts with an interest of discovering the beauty and features of the fascinating micro-world of lichens, fungus and mosses. All the species shown occur in Patagonia, which extends along the west and east slopes of the Andes Mountain Range. The most conspicuous species, whose size allows its identification in the field with the naked eye, are presented as well as some other small but abundant forms that are important for the ecosystem.
