Biography

Charlie Ryrie is a writer, researcher, environmental campaigner and a committed organic grower. She is a regular contributor to gardening magazines including Garden Inspirations and Gardens Illustrated. She has edited and advised on many gardening books, including Heritage Vegetables (Gaia 1996). The Edible Container Garden (Gaia 2000) and Urban Eden (Kyle Cathie 2000). Equally passionate about issues ecological, she wrote The Healing Energies of Water (Gaia 1998) and is deputy editor of EcoDesign, the journal of the Ecological Design Association. She contributes features on sustainable living to weekend supplements of The Independent and other UK national newspapers.
