Biography

Sara Oldfield is secretary general of BGCI and director of Fauna & Flora International's Global Trees Campaign. A botanist with a particular interest in the conservation of rare and threatened trees and plants, she was the first conservation officer at the Royal Botanic Gardens, Kew. Her previous books include Rainforest (New Holland, 2002) and Deserts: The Living Drylands (New Holland, 2004).
