Title informationHabitat Management for Natterer's Bat (Myotis Nattereri)Peter G Smith and Paul A Racey
14 pages, col photos, b/w illus, map.Mammal Trust UK/People's Trust for Endangered Species
Sixteen species of bat have breeding populations in Britain, yet the life habits of many are poorly known. This is especially true of the Natterer bat which has been known in Britain since at least 1837, yet it is only recently, by using radio tracking techniques, that its characteristics have been documented. This booklet covers the habitat, behaviour, diet, UK distribution and threats of one of the lesser-known species of bat to reside in the UK. Also covered are suggested conservation measures that would preserve the status of the Natterer bat population.
