Papers from a meeting of the British Ecological Society Conservation Ecology Group, held in London in 1992. The continuing loss of British hedgerows in the 1990s, and the need to update and advance hedgerow research carried out since the mid-1970s, provided the focus for the meeting. The papers include: hedgerow establishment and management; the hedgerow as a wildlife habitat; hedgerow history; the national hedgerow survey; links between research and policies affecting hedgerow management.
