The emphasis in this book is on hill-mountain geomorphology and environment although ecological, climatological, hydrological and morphodynamic processes are integrated into the text. The authors aim to present a framework in which hills and mountains as special environments can be studied and to show how, no matter what their location or origin, all hilly and mountainous regions share common characteristics and undergo similar processes.
