Il Gipeto e le Alpi: Storia di un Ritorno aims to give the fullest possible information on the return of the bearded vulture in the Alps Despite the commitment of WWF International and the Frankfurter Zoologischer Gesellschaft, whose design and conduct of this initiative began in 1978, it is only half way there. This book illustrates, in addition to the biological characteristics of the bearded vulture, the first attempts at reintroduction, the current project, and its results.

Il libro intende dare un'informazione il più possibile completa sul ritorno del Gipeto nelle Alpi. Malgrado infatti l'impegno del WWF internazionale e della Frankfurter Zoologischer Gesellschaft il progetto e la conduzione di questa iniziativa cominciata nel 1978, non è che a metà strada. Il volume illustra, oltre alle caratteristiche biologiche del Gipeto, i primi tentativi di reintroduzione, l'attuale progetto e i suoi risultati.
