This beautifully produced full-colour publication is timed to coincide with the 100th anniversary of captain Robert Falcon Scott's ill-fated Antarctic expedition, which departed in 1910. The book, unlike most that cover the explorations of Scott and his contemporary Sir Ernest Henry Schackleton, focuses on the official photographers who accomanied the teams : Herbert George Ponting with Scott on board Terra Nova, and James Francis Hurley with Shackleton on Endurance, drawing on the superb sets of photographs presented to George V, as well as their writings and other archival material.
