About this book

Language: French

Haute-Savoie, France, is a department rich in biodiversity, especially for plant species that have adapted to a variety of natural environmental conditions, such as edges of lakes and the Rhône, but also high mountains.

After decades of painstaking surveys and collections, over 2,500 plant species and subspecies are listed today. Of these, some are particularly rare or unique across France as the pale yellow Orchis who in France is only found in Haute-Savoie. L’Atlas de la Flore Rare et Menacée de Haute-Savoie is edited by Asters (The conservation body of natural areas in Haute-Savoie) and CBNA with support of the county council of Haute-Savoie, and presents 395 species that each are the subject of special attention for their rarity and / or their heritage value.
