Language: French with extended English summary
The first book in a prospected series devoted to a complete revision/restudy of the Caucasian and Crimean faunas of the carabid tribe Trechini is devoted to the blind endogean forms of the Nannotrechus complex. The coverage concerns 11 generic (7 new) and 54 specific (36 species and 2 subspecies new) names, all fully (re)described, keyed and partly based on newly revealed characters. Special emphasis is placed on comparative phylogenetics as assessed by cladistic and phenetic techniques. Certain phenetic quantitative methods of analysis appear more preferable for purely taxonomic purposes, whereas the cladistic approach is more revealing for a historical zoogeographical analysis.
