Synthesis of more than half a century of zoological research at Mt Nimba, now a biosphere reserve and world heritage site. The history of scientific African expeditions is discussed, setting the scene for an ecological description of the biota. More than 500 new species have been described from Nimba, 56 of which are published for the first time in this book. It also provides ecological data for several hundreds of invertebrate and vertebrate species.
