Alan Rabinowitz is president and CEO of the Panthera Foundation. He is the author of six books, including Jaguar (William Morrow, 1986; Island Press,
2000), Chasing the Dragon's Tail (Doubleday, 1991; Island Press, 2002), and most recently, the widely acclaimed Beyond the Last Village (Island Press,
2001), whose setting is another region of Myanmar. Dr. Rabinowitz has been profiled in The New York Times and National Geographic Adventure Magazine.
