About this book

Photographs by Andre and Cornelia Bartschi. Manu is the largest tropical rainforest reserve in the world, and lies in the remote southeastern region of Peru, at the tip of the Amazon river. Half the size of Switzerland, it encompasses three distinct ecosystems - the Puna, a high-altitude tundra; cloud forest; and lowland rainforest. It supports over 1,000 species of bird, 13 species of monkey, the Giant Otter, and an unknown insect fauna and plant flora. This is a comprehensive and stunningly illustrated look at this, perhaps the most species-rich protected area on earth. The text is bilingual (Spanish/English).
