The Legend volume contains notes on the content, presentation and mapping grid of the vegetation map, notes on the structure of the legend, a list of contributors, and the 698 mapping units grouped according to formations, in German and English.
(Rolled maps): The Maps part contains coloured maps of the natural vegetation of Europe on 9 sheets, scale 1: 2.5 million, and a master survey map, scale 1:10 million, along with a legend sheet structured according to formations, which interprets the colours, symbols, numbers and designations of the individual mapping units in German and English.
